About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with government and contractor teams across the development lifecycle
Gather and analyze specifications and requirements from system stakeholders
Develop and deploy enhancements to address user needs and improve application functionality
Troubleshoot, resolve, and document system issues to ensure high availability and reliability
Manage system upgrades and compatibility with current tools, frameworks, and libraries
Participate in planning, development, testing, deployment, and production support
Design and implement solution architecture for new development efforts and full-stack applications
Develop and optimize front-end and back-end functionality using Java and JavaScript-based frameworks
Identify and address application architecture bottlenecks to improve performance
Maintain code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews
Collaborate with system owners, government stakeholders, and contractor teams
Ensure compliance with coding, security, and documentation standards
Report to the Program Manager
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
Minimum of 8+ years of relevant professional experience in software development
Strong experience with Java and JEE development
Proficient in JavaScript and Ajax
Hands-on expertise in Spring Boot and Spring Data JPA
Experience with Angular 14+
In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL database design and development
Proficiency with application servers such as Tomcat and JBoss
Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required
Must be able to pass a background check; additional project/client background checks may be required
Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Acrobat
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
Analytical troubleshooting ability
Proactive and adaptable in dynamic project environments
Ability to interpret technical requirements, identify gaps, and coordinate with specialized teams
Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite is preferred
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies is preferred
Ability to work on-site in a professional office environment
Ability to work flexible schedules, including holidays and outside normal business hours
May be required to travel for business or professional development purposes
