About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical direction, engineering expertise, and support across voice and data communications domains
- Plan, design, develop, install, test, and maintain large communications networks
- Assist in designing large-scale voice and data communications networks for performance, security, and scalability
- Participate in installation and deployment of voice/data communication systems
- Test and troubleshoot communication network components
- Support maintenance and repair of network infrastructure
- Prepare technical documentation, network configurations, and system procedures
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to implement communication solutions
- Apply engineering knowledge and industry best practices
- Direct building architects and planners in designing communications spaces and media pathways that meet industry standards
- Develop, operate, and maintain voice, wireless, video, and data communications systems
- Report to the Program Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent practical experience may be considered
- At least 7 years of relevant work experience in voice/data communications engineering is preferred but not required for candidates with certifications and strong technical aptitude
- BICSI Technician certification is required
- Top-Secret Clearance is required
- Must be able to pass a background check and may require additional project/client background checks
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, adapt to changing priorities, and learn quickly
- Ability to work independently and on a multifunctional team
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Foundational understanding of voice and data communication technologies, protocols, and standards, including VoIP, TCP/IP, and SIP
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and resolve network issues
- Familiarity with network and telecommunication tools and diagnostic utilities
- Ability to work onsite in the main office
- Ability to perform duties for extended periods, use computers efficiently, and sit for long periods
- May require lifting and moving hardware equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- May involve standing, bending, or working in confined technical spaces
- May be asked to work flexible schedules, holidays, and outside normal business hours
- May be asked to travel for business or professional development
