About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and manage comprehensive training curricula aligned with Florida PALM implementation and agency initiatives
- Develop and maintain role-based learning paths, instructor-led materials, virtual content, self-paced eLearning modules, and blended learning approaches
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create learning solutions
- Develop and manage training strategies, schedules, communication plans, and deployment initiatives tied to project timelines
- Oversee simultaneous curriculum development efforts and ensure accurate, consistent, timely delivery
- Develop and maintain job aids, quick reference guides, SOPs, user manuals, knowledge-base articles, FAQs, videos, and other performance support tools
- Ensure document management, version control, accessibility, repository maintenance, and compliance with agency and project standards
- Collaborate with business owners, SMEs, project managers, change management teams, and technical teams to assess training needs
- Support change management and user adoption through communication and learning strategies
- Support UAT training readiness by preparing users for testing processes, business scenarios, and system functionality
- Organize and oversee classroom, virtual, webinar, and hybrid training delivery
- Prepare instructors and provide learner support
- Assess training effectiveness through surveys, evaluations, metrics, and learner feedback
- Recommend and implement improvements based on performance data
- Mentor and lead instructional designers, trainers, technical writers, and other training staff
- Prepare executive briefings and status reports covering progress, readiness metrics, risks, issues, and mitigation plans
- Report to the Program Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 7 years of training experience, including curriculum development for IT and instructional technology initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Education, or related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a training management role
- Familiarity with ERP systems, business process transformation, and enterprise software implementations
- Proficiency in adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, including ADDIE and SAM
- Experience developing training solutions for large private-sector, public-sector, or government technology modernization initiatives
- Expertise in creating job aids, learning materials, and multimedia solutions
- Advanced skills in curriculum design and eLearning content creation
- Ability to pass a background check
- Problem-solving skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Acrobat
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Preferred: Experience with LMS and eLearning platforms such as Articulate Storyline or Captivate
- Preferred: PMP, CPTD, ATD, Prosci Change Management, or relevant certifications
- Preferred: Familiarity with Florida FLAIR and Florida PALM
- Preferred: Understanding of finance and accounting practices and Florida-specific procurement, budgeting, and grants management processes
- Preferred: Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint experience
