About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Receive, verify, and process visitors and guests at the Visitor Control Center
  • Issue retention, temporary, or visitor badges according to approved clearance levels
  • Issue guest decals for approved social or ceremonial functions
  • Produce and issue Common Access Cards (CACs) according to Government requirements
  • Conduct fingerprinting in compliance with federal standards
  • Capture and produce credential photographs, including passport and ISOPREP photos
  • Conduct personnel and item inspections using X-Ray screening systems, walk-through metal detectors, and hand-held metal detection devices
  • Identify, escalate, and document prohibited items or security anomalies
  • Operate and maintain Government-furnished equipment and systems, including X-Ray machines, metal detection systems, and credentialing/access control systems
  • Collaborate with Government staff to troubleshoot access issues and resolve badge, CAC, and ISOPREP credential discrepancies
  • Escalate issues through proper Government channels
  • Collect, maintain, and report visitor control statistics and operational data
  • Document actions, incidents, and access transactions in approved Government systems
  • Report to the Site Lead
  • Work onsite in a secure professional facility and support rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and hours outside normal business hours as mission needs require
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in visitor control, access control, security operations, or credentialing preferred
  • Experience in operating security screening equipment (X-Ray, metal detectors) preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed Post Orders and Government security procedures without deviation
  • Completion of the Tailored Adaptive Personality Assessment System (TAPAS) will be required
  • Active Top Secret /SCI with Polygraph clearance is required
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license in good standing
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, speak fluently in English
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and on a multi-functional team
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use a computer and office productivity tools with sufficient speed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 40 lbs
