About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Receive, verify, and process visitors and guests at the Visitor Control Center
  • Issue retention, temporary, visitor badges, and guest decals
  • Produce and issue Common Access Cards (CACs)
  • Conduct fingerprinting and capture credential, passport, and ISOPREP photographs
  • Conduct personnel and item inspections using X-Ray screening systems and metal detectors
  • Identify, escalate, and document prohibited items or security anomalies
  • Operate and maintain Government-furnished X-Ray, metal detection, credentialing, and access control systems
  • Troubleshoot visitor and guest access issues with Government staff
  • Resolve badge, CAC, and ISOPREP credential approval, issuance, and system discrepancies
  • Escalate issues through appropriate Government channels
  • Collect, maintain, and report visitor control statistics and operational data
  • Document actions, incidents, and access transactions in approved Government systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in visitor control, access control, security operations, or credentialing preferred
  • Experience in operating security screening equipment (X-Ray, metal detectors) preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed Post Orders and Government security procedures without deviation
  • Completion of the Tailored Adaptive Personality Assessment System (TAPAS) required
  • Active Top Secret /SCI with Polygraph clearance required
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license in good standing
  • Must be able to pass a background check; additional checks may be required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and on a multifunctional team
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 40 lbs
