About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, test, and maintain production-grade applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, Python, and Flask
- Lead sprint-level technical delivery by breaking down requirements, identifying dependencies and risks, and coordinating work across engineering teams
- Drive engineering quality through code reviews, testing standards, documentation, secure coding practices, and Definition of Done requirements
- Resolve developer blockers, clarify requirements, and evaluate implementation tradeoffs
- Collaborate with Solution Architects on solution designs and architecture decisions
- Work with DevOps teams on CI/CD, automated testing, security requirements, release readiness, and deployments
- Mentor and coach engineers through code reviews, pair programming, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional learning
- Support Agile delivery practices including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, daily standups, retrospectives, and progress tracking
- Develop and maintain API specifications, component documentation, architecture decision records, coding standards, and operational runbooks
- Monitor application performance after releases and participate in troubleshooting, incident response, and corrective actions
- Provide coaching, professional development support, and performance feedback
- Participate in technical interviews, candidate evaluations, and technical assessment reviews
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on software quality, security, reliability, maintainability, and development practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- At least two years in a senior or lead-level development role with technical accountability
- Full-stack development experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, Python, and Flask
- Ability to write, review, and maintain secure, scalable, production-ready code
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with OpenAPI/Swagger documentation standards
- Knowledge of SQL databases, cloud platforms, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices
- Understanding of DevSecOps, secure coding methodologies, automated testing frameworks, SAST tools, deployment gates, and OWASP Top 10 concepts
- Experience working in Agile environments, including planning, estimation, backlog refinement, sprint execution, and retrospectives
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers through coaching, code reviews, knowledge transfer, and constructive feedback
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong documentation practices, including technical standards, reusable patterns, specifications, and operational guidance
- Ability to balance hands-on development with technical leadership and team support
- Experience providing performance feedback, supporting professional development, and guiding team execution
- Participation in hiring processes, including technical assessments and interviews
- Commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, engineering excellence, and high-quality solutions
