About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations and HR matters
  • Support managers with performance concerns, coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations
  • Maintain employee policies, procedures, and handbook content
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including multi-state requirements
  • Manage personnel records and HR documentation
  • Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely
  • Maintain employee data in HRIS and payroll systems
  • Coordinate payroll changes, employee status updates, and reporting requirements
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of HR technology platforms
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts for office, warehouse, and merchandising personnel
  • Manage onboarding and orientation programs
  • Partner with hiring managers to support workforce planning and staffing needs
  • Ensure completion of new hire documentation and compliance requirements
  • Administer employee benefit programs and coordinate annual open enrollment
  • Develop job descriptions and performance evaluation processes
  • Support employee development, coaching, retention, and succession initiatives
  • Investigate and document employee relations issues
  • Promote employee engagement and a positive workplace culture
  • Coordinate office operations, vendor relationships, employee events, and general administrative functions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with others
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance, employment laws, and employee relations practices
  • Ability to advise managers on performance management and workplace issues
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and employees
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist role
  • Experience processing payroll and administering employee benefits
  • Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, and HR compliance initiatives
  • Preferred: Experience with Rippling HRIS and Payroll
  • Preferred: PHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or similar HR certification
  • Preferred: Experience supporting multi-state employee populations
  • Preferred: Experience building HR processes and performance management programs
  • Preferred: Experience in distribution, logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, or family-owned business environments
