About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive new business growth by selling group retirement plan solutions, including 401(k), 403(b), Defined Benefit plans, endowments, foundations, and non-qualified plans
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets through proactive acquisition of new retirement plan clients
- Identify and engage prospective clients through networking, referrals, and direct outreach
- Assess organizations' retirement plan needs and present tailored solutions aligned with fiduciary obligations and business objectives
- Negotiate and close new business while adhering to compliance requirements and fiduciary standards
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and track performance metrics using CRM tools
- Educate and advise clients on retirement solutions and industry regulations
- Collaborate with investment advisors, compliance specialists, and plan administrators
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive products
- Participate in industry events, networking opportunities, and CBIZ marketing initiatives
- Maintain required industry licensing and fiduciary/compliance responsibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Some relevant industry experience
- Must obtain required licenses/credentials
- Superior command of verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, internally and externally
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
- FINRA Series 65 license required, or Series 7 and 66, or ability to obtain Series 65 before start date
- 5+ years of experience in retirement plan sales, financial services, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, fiduciary standards, and retirement-industry regulatory compliance
- Existing network of contacts within business and institutional markets preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- Self-motivated ability to work independently and meet sales goals
