About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary contact for a specified block of business and own overall client satisfaction
  • Perform required compliance testing and related activities
  • Reconcile assets and prepare Form 5500 and all schedules
  • Prepare employer contribution allocations, required minimum distributions, and Qualified Domestic Relations Orders
  • Respond to plan sponsors professionally and promptly regarding issues and questions
  • Promote client retention and identify opportunities to build existing relationships through timely, quality service
  • Resolve complex situations or requests
  • Achieve department-established service goals
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least five years of professional, retirement plan administration, and compliance experience
  • Advanced knowledge of industry and professional concepts, principles, practices, and procedures
  • Expert knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and professional standards
  • Expert use of applicable technology
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and enterprise communication and travel solutions (Concur, Skype)
  • Experience performing work that requires initiative and leadership skills
  • Experience in coaching and teaching others
  • Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA), Qualified 401(K) Administrator (QKA)
  • Ability to anticipate and elicit customer needs
  • Ability to self-learn and develop business and technical knowledge quickly
  • Comfortable working with quick turnaround times and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel as necessary
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Preferred: Strong background in compliance testing, Form 5500 preparation, allocations, and asset reconciliation
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of ERISA and IRS/DOL regulations related to retirement plan administration
  • Preferred: Experience reviewing or auditing the work of others for accuracy and compliance
  • Preferred: Familiarity with FT William software used for 5500 and compliance
  • Preferred: Proficiency with retirement plan administration systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Preferred: QKA, QPA ASPPA credentials, or progress toward certification
