About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform full-scope human resources services for clients
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations within client engagements
  • Lead client functions and transitions to support efficient HR operations
  • Serve as first point of contact for escalated or complex HR matters
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations, company policies, and HR Services standards
  • Oversee employee onboarding, new-hire paperwork, orientation, and policy reviews
  • Oversee employee offboarding in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Maintain accurate client processes and documentation
  • Process client payroll using third-party payroll platforms
  • Review time, attendance, leave, payroll changes, and payroll-related data
  • Prepare retirement, FSA, and HSA remittances as applicable
  • Answer employee and client payroll questions
  • Handle payroll tax registrations, notices, and account closures as applicable
  • Conduct quarterly and annual payroll reviews
  • Manage complex payroll matters with providers, agencies, employees, and clients
  • Administer benefits, enrollments, terminations, changes, leave, COBRA, and HIPAA compliance
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and assist employees with benefits questions
  • Manage benefit renewals and open enrollment activities
  • Provide clients with HR policy, compliance, employee relations, and best-practice support
  • Provide on-site client support as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of HR, talent management, employment law, regulatory changes, and HR technology
  • Lead or participate in initiatives improving the HR Services team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3 years of experience as a subject matter expert
  • Must maintain current required licenses and certifications relevant to field of expertise
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication across all organizational levels, internally and externally
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related education, and 5–10 years of relevant experience, or similar combination of education and experience (preferred)
  • Experience managing HR functions across multiple states
  • Experience working with external clients in an HR consulting or outsourcing capacity
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in HR software and payroll systems
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience working with different HRIS, including implementation of new systems
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification or other HR/payroll-related certifications (preferred/plus)
