About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide accounting advisory support to clients, including implementation assistance with new accounting standards
Perform outsourced Controller, Accounting Manager, and Senior Accounting work
Provide accounting and reporting assistance for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, capital raising, and financing structures
Write technical accounting memoranda covering equity, debt, classification, revenue recognition, lease accounting, derivatives, business combinations, and other technical matters
Perform technical industry and company research using online tools and publicly available information
Develop work plans and execute analyses addressing complex questions of fact
Prepare reports and schedules summarizing findings for clients and other parties
Supervise and perform day-to-day consulting and technical accounting advisory project activities
Interact with client personnel, team members, and professionals from other firms
Assist in preparing clients’ internal and external financial statements, supporting schedules, and required disclosures
Assist with audit readiness
Apply accounting, financial, and analytical skills to client situations, including financial statement and accounting-record reviews, cash flow projections, and business-process modeling
Develop new business relationships internally and externally to generate new business
Develop and maintain productive client relationships
Mentor staff and help grow the national FAAS practice

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree required
7 years of experience in related field
5 years supervisory experience
Must have and preserve required licenses
Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, internally and externally
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Prior experience with SEC reporting and IPO readiness
Experience or strong interest in business development
Advanced analytical, issue resolution, and problem-solving abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment
Ability to interface with team members and client personnel in demanding, deadline-driven situations
Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to meet client needs
Ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously while managing time and budget
Prior experience managing multiple engagement teams and developing others
Proficient with PC environments and Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced Excel skills
Proficient use and analysis of computer models and development of dynamic spreadsheet applications
Understanding and experience applying and researching U.S. GAAP and relevant auditing standards
Digital asset currency or blockchain experience is a plus
