About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a subject matter expert within the business unit and share knowledge
- Recommend improvements to internal department procedures
- Recognize business opportunities for clients and CBIZ
- Serve as a trusted advisor and assume significant client responsibility
- Identify client issues and conflicts and proactively communicate solution options
- Manage staff and engagement deliverables, including financial statements, tax returns, and workpapers
- Complete technical and strategic reviews to ensure quality control standards are met
- Support new client development, client meetings, presentations, proposals, and cross-sell goals
- Manage billing and realization for assigned clients and develop engagement budgets
- Understand clients' Qualified Plan needs as applicable
- Supervise, train, mentor, and provide performance feedback to staff
- Foster a positive team culture and support management decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required
- 8 years experience in public accounting or related field
- 5 years supervisory experience
- Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
- Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements
- Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Must be able to travel based on business needs
