About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, maintain, and update interactive tools and trackers for financial reporting and data analysis using advanced Microsoft Excel features
  • Ensure financial tools and trackers are user-friendly, accurate, and updated according to reporting requirements
  • Perform data analysis and summarization supporting budget formulation and execution
  • Provide technical assistance and analysis for budget formulation and financial transaction processing
  • Interpret and apply financial laws, regulations, and accounting principles to ensure compliance
  • Develop and maintain financial reports and data summaries for management and stakeholders
  • Communicate financial analysis and findings clearly in written and verbal formats
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver accurate, actionable financial insights and process improvements
  • Perform other duties supporting finance and revenue operations
  • Report to the designated CBP office as needed for contract requirements, meetings, training, audits, or other business needs
  • Perform mission-essential functions during government furloughs or shutdowns when required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree (four-year degree) with a major in a related field
  • Minimum of five years of work experience performing similar business analysis work
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas, automation, and data visualization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Word, Outlook, Access, multiple monitors, Microsoft Office products, and established databases
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in financial contexts
  • Experience in financial analysis, transaction processing, and budget execution
  • Experience developing and maintaining financial reports and data summaries
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to design and automate financial tools and trackers in Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Professional demeanor and adherence to CBP’s standards of conduct
  • Must successfully complete the required U.S. Government background investigation and security clearance process
  • Must obtain and maintain the required security clearance as a condition of employment
  • Knowledge of English language structure, spelling, composition, and grammar
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person
  • Ability to address customer inquiries with a pleasant and patient demeanor
  • Ability to perform arithmetic, calculate rates, ratios, and percentages, and interpret mathematical information
  • Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must comply with all CBP security, training, and onboarding requirements
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the designated CBP office and report onsite when required
  • Prior experience with SAP, ServiceNow, and Concur is desired but not required
