About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide video/audio visits with patients requiring expert intervention in diabetes and/or weight management
- Work directly with patients alongside Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialists (CDCES) and obesity-certified clinicians
- Oversee patient care by providing direct consultations
- Supervise care delivered by non-physician clinicians through case review meetings
- Guide clinicians in appropriate medication adjustments and titration
- Support patients on diabetes therapies, including oral medications, injectables, and insulin
- Support patients using diabetes technologies, including pumps, CGM, connected pens, and apps
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- MD or DO degree required
- Active MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) license in at least one state
- Board Certification
- Active DEA license
- Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team
- Strong computer skills
- Expertise with supporting patients on diabetes therapies (orals, injectables, insulin, etc.)
- Expertise with supporting patients on diabetes technologies (pumps, CGM, connected pens, apps, etc.)
- Proficient with EMR platforms and medical billing
