About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve the Company's Quality Management System and associated quality programs
  • Maintain compliance with ASME U and R Stamp Programs, ISO 9001, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, U.S. Navy quality programs, and customer-specific requirements
  • Develop and revise quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, forms, and documentation
  • Maintain document control, revision management, and quality records
  • Exercise authority to stop work and reject nonconforming materials, components, assemblies, processes, and products
  • Interpret and enforce quality standards, specifications, codes, regulatory requirements, and customer requirements
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee internal audits and represent the Company during customer audits, certification audits, regulatory inspections, and requalification activities
  • Coordinate audit responses and verify corrective-action effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain supplier qualification, surveillance, audit, evaluation, and performance-monitoring programs
  • Support Operations and Engineering with manufacturing-process development, validation, implementation, product acceptance, and compliance
  • Manage the Non-Conformance Reporting system and lead root-cause, corrective, and preventive actions
  • Monitor and report cost-of-quality metrics
  • Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, 8D, and related methodologies
  • Manage welder qualification programs and welding/special-process qualifications
  • Supervise, coach, mentor, train, and provide technical direction to quality personnel
  • Assign and prioritize departmental workloads
  • Develop quality metrics and prepare monthly reports covering NCR trends, corrective actions, audits, supplier performance, cost of quality, customer concerns, and improvement activities
  • Communicate quality risks, trends, and opportunities to leadership
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, and Project Management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive quality management experience in industrial manufacturing environments
  • Experience administering and owning ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Experience administering ASME quality programs and fabrication code requirements
  • Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments, including nuclear, power generation, energy, or industrial equipment manufacturing
  • Experience leading internal and external audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections
  • Supervisory experience leading quality personnel and quality-related activities
  • Experience with nonconformance management, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Travel up to 20%
  • Frequent sitting, typing, computer use, and verbal and written communication
  • Ability to view computer screens and read project documentation
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally
  • Compliance with company attendance standards
