About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the BDO in originating SBA, equipment leasing, and ABL financing for small businesses nationwide
  • Explain Celtic Bank’s entrepreneurial lending approach to small business owners
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and brokers
  • Assist with prospecting, outreach, and tracking new opportunities
  • Use Salesforce to track leads, opportunities, and accounts and maintain pipeline accuracy
  • Perform pre-underwriting due diligence and credit analysis
  • Prepare and organize credit files and underwriting checklists
  • Keep borrowers, brokers, and internal teams informed during underwriting
  • Follow up on closing checklist items to keep deals on schedule
  • Obtain signed commitments after approval and coordinate funding with Operations
  • Coordinate closing logistics and help borrowers deliver closing documents
  • Support post-closing relationship and marketing efforts
  • Provide general administrative support to the BDO

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Commercial banking, lending, or credit analyst experience; retail banking experience alone does not qualify
  • Strong credit skills and working knowledge of credit analysis, underwriting, and loan structuring
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deals and competing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including with borrowers, brokers, and internal teams
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Analytical skills and close attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and the internet
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Candidates in or near Tennessee are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Experience with SBA lending, equipment finance, or ABL preferred
