About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and deploy tools for development teams and production applications
  • Build and maintain tooling for applications in Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform
  • Help development teams build, ship, and deploy services and applications
  • Promote service resilience and reliability
  • Ensure smooth operation of production environments
  • Debug complex issues with developers
  • Create and facilitate monitoring of the four golden signals
  • Build a self-service platform, including service catalogs, repository tooling, and documentation
  • Gather developer feedback, identify improvements, and iterate on platform capabilities
  • Participate in a shared on-call rotation
  • Maintain and provide on-call support for infrastructure environments
  • Ensure primary site uptime

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience in an SRE role or similar
  • Experience deploying, managing, and debugging applications in Kubernetes
  • Experience with Helm and Crossplane
  • Experience building, securing, and managing container images
  • Experience working with cloud-based environments and services such as CloudSQL, Pub/Sub, and Memorystore
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Crossplane, or similar
  • Experience monitoring the four golden signals: latency, traffic, errors, and load
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
  • Familiarity with monorepo and trunk-based development models
  • Familiarity with monolithic build tooling and CI/CD
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar
  • Ability to communicate with and support developers with empathy
  • Ability to work in a fully remote position within the United States
