Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contribute throughout the project lifecycle by brainstorming concepts, developing creative solutions, and designing user flows while meeting deadlines
  • Own and evolve core component libraries and the Centah design system
  • Design, specify, and maintain complex UI components
  • Ensure components are polished, accessible, usable, and aligned with brand identity
  • Use quantitative and qualitative user research to inform product and design decisions
  • Refine requirements with product stakeholders
  • Conduct user interviews and internal feedback sessions to identify usability improvements
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure technical feasibility and balance constraints and trade-offs
  • Prioritize UX debt through information architecture and system mapping
  • Synthesize requirements from multiple sources into elegant, succinct designs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Portfolio of high-caliber work showcasing the design process from initial research to high-fidelity, responsive design
  • Expertise in modern Figma workflows, including Auto-layout, Components, Variants, and Properties
  • Ability to build libraries and components that are easy for other designers to use
  • Disciplined organizational skills in work prioritization and Figma file structure
  • Outstanding visual design skills with an eye for typography, layout, and hierarchy
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to identify gaps in systems and propose solutions independently
  • Fair grasp of how designs are implemented in HTML/CSS/React/Mobile
  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers about constraints and trade-offs
  • Enterprise or B2B software background preferred
  • Home improvement or big-box retail experience preferred
