About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Convert analytics business requirements into technical requirements and implemented projects
- Work with IT, business, and analytics partners
- Source data directly via batch and pipeline processes
- Manage SDLC processes
- Translate analytics business requirements into technical requirements and implement solutions
- Lead meetings and/or calls with senior stakeholders and IT
- Lead requirements-gathering efforts on cross-functional projects
- Own presentation materials and stakeholder communications
- Mentor junior engineers and support alignment across business and technology teams
- Build tables, views, and scalable semantic models
- Create analytics code, code-management controls, and data engineering solutions
- Recommend modifications to departmental SDLC processes
- Create test plans, validation controls, and reusable departmental templates
- Define source code and documentation standards and principles
- Manage source code repositories and technical documentation
- Own multiple code bases and support governance and maintainability
- Investigate and resolve defects, including critical production issues
- Assume ownership of high-priority incidents and drive resolution
- Define standards, best practices, and procedures for issue remediation and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Analytics, Health Information Management, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
- 5 years as an Analytics Engineer or 7+ years as a Data Analyst, Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role required
- Knowledge of SQL, SDLC, GIT, RDBMS
- Enhanced understanding of cloud analytics components including AWS, Databricks, Data Mesh, Delta Lake, and Data Lakehouse environments required
- Experience supporting Power BI reporting and analytics solutions preferred
- Strong knowledge of SQL, software development lifecycle practices, Git, and relational database management systems
- Advanced knowledge of data modeling and analytics concepts
- Experience building and managing tables, views, and complex data relationships
- Working knowledge of cloud analytics technologies, including Databricks, Data Mesh, Delta Lake, and Data Lakehouse concepts
- Experience developing test plans, validation controls, and technical documentation
- Strong defect investigation, troubleshooting, and remediation capabilities
- Ability to lead discussions with senior stakeholders and work effectively across business, analytics, and IT teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple code bases, and take ownership of critical issues
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
- DBT Fundamentals preferred
