About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Oversee the design and management of cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy
Manage development of scalable architecture supporting applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms
Lead evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance of cloud solutions
Guide requirements gathering with stakeholders and vendors
Ensure security management and privacy requirements are incorporated into cloud hardware, software, and applications
Establish audit standards, controls, and processes to monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure
Lead a team responsible for cloud platform engineering, architecture enhancements, and operational excellence
Develop and enforce cloud standards, best practices, and roadmap capabilities
Partner with risk, information security, architecture, and application development teams
Own reliability, availability, and performance of core cloud platform functions
Manage department staff, including hiring, performance management, and career development
Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent experience acquired through applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill
2+ years experience in setting up cloud-specific infrastructure with public cloud providers like Azure, AWS and/or Google preferred
Cloud certification with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google required
Knowledge of infrastructure automation languages such as Shell Scripting, Python, and PowerShell
Experience with networking, security concepts, troubleshooting, and observability systems such as Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, and CloudWatch
Knowledge of serverless technologies such as Lambda, Google Functions, or Azure Functions
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
Experience working with Kubernetes and Docker
Experience addressing technical and business issues
Ability to lead/manage others
Collaboration and team building skills
Ability to communicate and make recommendations to upper management
Effective conflict management skills
Demonstrated negotiation skills
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
