About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner
  • Support specialty pharmacy operations through customer service, phone outreach, and data entry
  • Interact with patients and healthcare providers, including contacting medical offices to clarify prescriptions
  • Update patients on prescription outcomes
  • Support pharmacist callback queues by obtaining refill authorizations and prescription clarifications
  • Assist with pre-QA and data entry activities
  • Respond to email escalations
  • Interact with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions on a timely basis
  • Work under direct supervision of a pharmacist
  • Maintain and update inventory recap reports
  • Retrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock; discard or return them as appropriate and complete documentation
  • Maintain prescription logs
  • Assist with pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs and document maintenance
  • Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with all policies and standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of pharmacy technician or medical office experience
  • Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses
  • Active Pharmacy Technician license in Texas, Florida, Missouri, or California
  • Customer-focused and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable managing high call volumes
  • Proficient with computer systems
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
  • Specialty pharmacy experience including Infusion and/or Oncology is highly preferred
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday during the applicable local-time schedule
  • Some holidays required when the business is open
