About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently lead complex programs comprised of multiple projects and workstreams
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively
- Manage interdependencies and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
- Manage the full project life cycle, including requirements assessment, project plans and schedules, resources, budget, execution, deployment, and closure
- Use corporate and industry-standard project management tools and techniques
- Assist with establishing and maintaining corporate project management methodology and department procedures
- Maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, action items, issues lists, and risk management plans
- Lead and communicate project status to stakeholders and external agencies
- Negotiate with stakeholders to identify resources, resolve issues, and mitigate risks
- Manage external vendor performance, governance, SLAs, KPIs, deliverables, escalations, remediation plans, and governance meetings
- Consider operational readiness, handoffs, controls, sustainability, and customer/member impact after implementation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of project management experience with departmental specific projects
- Previous experience as a lead in a functional area
- Experience managing cross functional teams on large scale projects or supervisory experience including hiring, training, assigning work and managing staff performance
- Proficient with MS-Office applications
- Healthcare experience
- Managed care experience preferred
- PMP certification preferred
- Proven experience leading complex, cross functional projects or programs from initiation through implementation and stabilization
- Experience managing external vendors, including performance management, SLAs, KPIs, deliverables, contractual commitments, service issues, escalations, remediation plans, and governance meetings
- Strong operational mindset
- Vendor Governance and Business Operations experience beneficial
