About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage team members responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex enterprise software solutions
Collaborate with data modelers, architects, business analysts, data stewards, and subject matter experts
Oversee Senior Application Development Engineers working on large-scale complex application development projects and programs
Lead efforts involving project scope, schedule, and budget
Monitor and communicate application progress and outcomes
Establish training and career development plans for Application Developers
Oversee third-party development teams and hold vendors accountable to standards, policies, and performance expectations
Identify and evaluate risks and participate in mitigation and control activities
Communicate with Application and Infrastructure Management operational groups during service transition
Partner with Security and SRE teams to ensure security and change management policies are followed
Lead design and development of proof-of-concept and prototype application environments
Manage hiring, training, performance reviews, salary reviews, leadership, technical guidance, and coaching for developers
Establish operational objectives and delegate tasks to ensure stable application development operations
Develop and communicate departmental objectives and motivate team members
Hold teams accountable for functional, quality, and timeline objectives
Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related experience, including prior management experience, or equivalent experience acquired through applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill
Experience with Application Development, Applications Architecture, and DevOps industry best practices
Knowledge of Agile Software Development
Hands-on technical background surrounding databases and data governance, ideally including knowledge of graph model databases
Ability to lead/manage others
Collaboration and team building skills
Ability to coach and deliver constructive feedback
Ability to communicate and make recommendations to upper management
Effective conflict management skills
Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations
Demonstrated negotiation skills
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
Healthcare payer, provider operations, or provider data management experience preferred
