Key responsibilities & impact

Develop compelling multimedia content, including graphics and videos, amplifying the experiences of Iranian civilians during the US-Israel-Iran war
Collaborate with CIVIC and HRA on creative storytelling approaches, visual style, format selection, audience engagement strategies, storyboarding, and script development
Lead production, including visual design, video editing, motion graphics, subtitling, sound design, photographs, video footage, interviews, and source-material integration
Produce and deliver edited videos approximately 1–3 minutes long, adapted to agreed formats
Edit photos through selection and color correction
Edit videos through editing, color correction, color integration, and subtitling
Propose creative formats for various platforms aligned with CIVIC’s tone of voice and branding
Ensure free and informed consent is obtained and archived, and uphold confidentiality, data protection, and ethical principles
Apply protection and privacy mitigation measures such as anonymization, blurring, voice alteration, removal of identifying information or metadata, and secure source-file handling
Ensure compliance with CIVIC visibility and visual identity requirements
Collaborate on a tailored dissemination strategy
Deliver edited high-resolution graphics, videos, raw files, captions, contextual notes, and signed consent forms where required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in photography and videography, graphic design, social media content creation, and/or communications
Strong command of video and photo editing software, including Adobe Creative Cloud suite: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Lightroom, and Photoshop
Proven experience working with non-profits or on development and/or humanitarian projects
Strong portfolio demonstrating relevant work, particularly in humanitarian and sensitive contexts
Strong knowledge of ethical storytelling practices, informed consent and protection principles
Ability to work in sensitive and conflict-affected environments
Fluency in English; knowledge of Farsi is an asset
Work authorization in the operating location
Stable internet connection for video calls and transferring large files
Own professional equipment, including camera, audio equipment, and editing and graphic design software
Commitment to align with US team time zones when needed
