About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day support for all Health Information Exchange (HIE) activities at Nemours
- Advance interoperability with external healthcare organizations, referring physician practices, regional and state Health Information Exchanges, government agencies, and other entities
- Roll out enhancements and implement new functionality supporting providers, care coordinators, the care team, patient care, and population health initiatives
- Establish new connections and maintain existing integrations with other health systems, the Social Security Administration, DHIN, HSX, and the Florida HIE
- Improve the content of external clinical documentation brought into local charts
- Analyze, test, deploy, monitor, and provide ongoing support for HIE activities using Epic's Care Everywhere platform
- Support query-based records exchange and Direct messaging
- Collaborate with Privacy and Health Information Management teams on appropriate functionality use
- Assist with patient questions and opt-out requests
- Serve as primary engineer for designated projects, assisting with project plans, team communication, go-live documents, and sign-off processes
- Modify, test, validate, and document system changes while following change-control processes
- Administer integration tools, including performance tuning, system monitoring, problem investigation, and application upgrades
- Identify process and procedural issues, suggest solutions, and engage teammates or other teams as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree required
- A minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a directly related area, during which both technical and professional capabilities have been clearly demonstrated is required
- Application specific certifications must be acquired and maintained
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, or a related field is preferred
