About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide legal and administrative support to the Chief Legal Officer
  • Review, prepare, organize, track, and route contracts, agreements, amendments, and legal documents
  • Identify missing information, inconsistencies, approvals, renewal dates, and other items requiring legal review
  • Maintain contract, legal matter, policy, and procedure records and tracking systems
  • Coordinate communications, document requests, meetings, invoices, and follow-up with external counsel
  • Assist with legal research and preparation of summaries and supporting documentation
  • Review regulatory and legally sensitive communications, letters, notices, templates, and formal correspondence
  • Assist with responses to regulatory agencies, subpoenas, legal requests, and other correspondence
  • Prepare and distribute Board of Directors packets quarterly
  • Coordinate the organization's policy and procedure review and approval process
  • Serve as the primary administrative contact for the Policy & Procedure Committee
  • Coordinate committee meetings, agendas, materials, approvals, and follow-up activities
  • Review policies and procedures for formatting, consistency, required sections, responsible parties, review dates, and approvals
  • Work with department leaders to update policies within established timeframes
  • Maintain the policy inventory and monitor review or expiration dates
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of paralegal, legal operations, contract administration, healthcare administration, or related experience
  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program preferred
  • Healthcare, managed care, corporate, regulatory, or in-house legal department experience strongly preferred
  • Experience reviewing contracts, policies, regulatory correspondence, or other legal documents preferred
  • Strong organizational and document-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies or missing information in documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to coordinate assignments across multiple departments
  • Ability to review and understand contracts, policies, procedures, regulatory correspondence, and other formal documents
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document-management systems
  • Ability to work independently while recognizing matters requiring escalation to the Chief Legal Officer
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with senior leadership, external counsel, regulators, providers, vendors, and employees
  • Must meet stated physical requirements, including standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, walking, fine motor skills, visual accuracy, hearing, speaking, and cognitive abilities
