About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop therapeutic rapport with clients
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and identify need for risk assessments, including substance use assessments
- Complete concurrent documentation within 24 hours and progress notes within agency guidelines
- Provide assessment services and individual, and possibly family, therapy for clients with substance use issues
- Develop, write, implement, evaluate, and revise treatment goals, objectives, and plans
- Use empirically based modalities to address mental health or substance abuse diagnoses
- Respond to urgent care situations and provide coverage for vacant caseloads via telephone and face-to-face intervention
- Keep the administrative supervisor informed of issues affecting the program or organization
- Collaborate with medical providers, case managers, and other clinical staff
- Split time between the Shelbyville and Lewisburg clinics to ensure continuity of care and timely access to services
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience treating individuals with mental health and substance use disorders
- A Master’s degree is required in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in MH Counseling
- Applicants with a Master’s degree in a related field must have at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework
- Relevant coursework and work experience in clinical treatment and treatment planning
- Relevant coursework and work experience in appraisal and assessment of mental disorders
- Relevant coursework and work experience in psychopathology
- Use of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health setting
- Clinical experience is required, which may be fulfilled through clinical practicums or internships completed as part of a master’s degree program
- License-eligible in respective discipline preferred
- Effective written, verbal, in-person, and virtual communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Ability to coordinate, organize, and plan
- Ability to respond to consumer needs in a timely and professional manner
- Demonstrated good clinical judgment
