About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide medical coding expertise to support physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Ensure medical-record documentation supports diagnostic and procedural coding
  • Serve as the primary contact for clinician questions and issues related to documentation and coding
  • Identify documentation improvement opportunities
  • Partner with clinical and coding education teams to deliver education
  • Perform quality assurance on post-visit reviews
  • Manage special handling of mergers and acquisitions through problem-list cleanup and process training
  • Collaborate with HEDIS leaders and champions to identify gaps and deficiencies
  • Report to the Manager, Medical Coding

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of technical Medical Coding experience or similar, including IPA and Offshore coding management
  • RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC Certification
  • Must reside in the Las Vegas, NV area
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 1 week/month to assigned clinics
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Zoom/Teams
  • Comfortable presenting on camera and with public speaking
  • Experience with Optum Encoder or AthenaOne EMR (preferred)
  • Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) or Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient (CDEO) (preferred)
