About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform varied, moderately complex administrative, technical, operational, and customer support assignments
Perform computations
Work on semi-routine assignments and daily follow-ups
Work closely with provider offices to troubleshoot and complete medication prior authorization requests for specialty medications
Complete prior authorization requests for members using various programs
Interpret area/department policies and methods for completing assignments
Identify work expectations and quality standards within defined parameters
Prioritize and schedule work with some latitude and minimal direction
Follow standard policies and practices with appropriate interpretation, deviation, and independent discretion
Provide specialty pharmacy services supporting patients with chronic and complex illnesses

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must have an active Pharmacy Tech Certification with Board of Pharmacy for state of residence
National Certification: PTCB (CPhT) or ExCPT
Experience as a Pharmacy Technician OR call center experience in a pharmacy or related call center setting
Must be able to read & interpret clinical information
Excellent communication skills
Experience using multiple computer applications simultaneously
Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Mail Order Pharmacy or Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred
Experience working with insurance plans and Medicare preferred
Experience submitting and/or reading pharmacy claims preferred
Minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps
Wireless, wired cable or DSL internet connection suggested
Dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Must be available Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm, with an option of a later shift if needed
Must be available to work overtime when there is a business need
May need to work holidays when there is a business need, excluding Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
