About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform buyer responsibilities across multiple categories, supplier types, or operational areas
- Submit product orders to suppliers daily and follow minimum and maximum inventory levels
- Report shortages and overages to suppliers and monitor credits or resolution
- Complete drug add submissions as needed
- Review supplier order status and expedite orders when necessary
- Track purchase orders and provide delivery/freight tracking details
- Adhere to supplier contractual requirements, inventory targets, and service expectations
- Identify and minimize out-of-stock situations
- Analyze out-of-stock issues to determine root causes
- Support purchasing strategies aligned with sourcing strategies and business requirements
- Ensure drugs, supplies, and other products are available for pharmacy operations
- Communicate supply issues effectively
- Manage internal and external relationships
- Retrieve data and perform reporting and analysis to support purchasing decisions
- Work independently and collaborate cross-functionally with pharmacy operations teams and suppliers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Pharmacy experience
- Knowledge of supply chain processes
- Ability to manage projects and drive initiatives
- Inventory Planning System experience (preferred)
- Prior purchasing experience (preferred)
- Elite knowledge (preferred)
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (preferred)
- Home internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload
- Dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
- Ability to work 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- Occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required
