About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and update building operating systems and equipment
- Perform minor and major repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Conduct building checks for HVAC issues, water leaks, climate control, and alarms
- Coordinate with outside vendors on snow removal, sprinkler repairs, equipment installation, and plumbing projects
- Adjust heating, cooling, and sprinkler systems
- Walk grounds and parking lots to address repairs, ice, snow, and debris removal
- Operate snow removal equipment
- Replace bulbs and ballasts and update lighting to energy-efficient systems
- Conserve energy and minimize expenses through building and grounds maintenance
- Respond to facility work requests involving safety, operating systems, and service needs
- Maintain wellness-center supplies and launder executive towels
- Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records
- Set company clocks for Daylight Savings Time and maintain emergency lighting
- Maintain electric rooms, boiler rooms, equipment rooms, and other maintenance areas
- Safely operate a company vehicle for deliveries and vendor pickups
- Research issues, provide recommendations, and work with service users to communicate solutions
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of plumbing, HVAC, building mechanical, and electrical systems
- Strong attention to detail and planning abilities to prioritize facilities requests, work orders, and/or supervisor delegations
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work with hand tools, testing equipment, and general maintenance tools
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Preferred: Obtain a 3rd grade engineer license after one year of employment if not licensed at hiring
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, fire protection, and security systems
- Ability to continuously perform physical activity over 50% of the time
- Ability to lift, pull, and push heavy materials
- Ability to stand or walk nearly all of the time
- Frequent bending, crawling, and kneeling
- Manual dexterity for strenuous physical tasks
- Required to access company email as part of job responsibilities
