About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, and update building operating systems and equipment
  • Perform minor and major repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Conduct building checks for HVAC problems, water leaks, climate control issues, and alarms
  • Coordinate with outside vendors on snow removal, sprinkler repairs, new equipment installation, and plumbing projects
  • Adjust heating and cooling equipment to maintain employee and tenant comfort
  • Adjust and repair sprinkler systems and coordinate repairs when needed
  • Conduct grounds and parking lot walk-throughs and address repairs, ice, snow, and debris
  • Operate snow removal equipment during winter
  • Replace bulbs and ballasts and update lighting to energy-efficient systems where possible
  • Conserve energy and minimize expenses through building and grounds maintenance
  • Respond to facility work requests involving safety, operating systems, and service needs
  • Maintain supplies for the wellness center and launder and store executive towels
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance logs and records
  • Set company clocks for Daylight Savings Time and maintain emergency lighting systems
  • Maintain electric rooms, boiler rooms, equipment rooms, and other maintenance areas
  • Safely operate a company vehicle for deliveries and pickups while complying with laws and company policies
  • Research issues and provide recommendations; work with service users to communicate recommendations clearly
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of plumbing, HVAC, building mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Strong attention to detail and planning abilities to prioritize facilities requests, work orders, and supervisor delegations
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work with hand tools, testing equipment, and general maintenance tools
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Preferred: Obtain a 3rd grade engineer license after one year of employment if not licensed at hiring
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, fire protection, and security systems
  • Ability to work scheduled hours at the designated work location
  • Ability to perform continuous physical activity, including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy materials
  • Ability to stand or walk nearly all of the time
  • Frequent stopping, crawling, and kneeling may be required
  • Manual dexterity for strenuous physical tasks
  • Access to a company email account as an integral job responsibility
