About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day administrative support and high-quality customer service to patients
- Manage front- and back-office operations, including billing support, scheduling, coding, patient communication, and filing
- Interview patients for case histories before appointments
- Schedule and coordinate appointments
- Update and maintain patients' health records
- Verify insurance coverage and assist billing with claims processing
- Communicate test results to patients when directed by physicians or nursing professionals
- Contact patients regarding appointments and answer billing questions
- Assist patients with rescheduling appointments and other scheduling issues
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of experience in a medical office environment or relevant area
- 1+ years' administrative experience
- 1+ years of experience in data coordination
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other computer-based systems (preferred)
- Associate’s degree in medical office management, Business, or related field (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field (preferred)
- Work with highest confidentially and abide HIPAA compliance
