About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist with periodic SEC filings and other external reports, including financial statements, footnotes, MD&A and other reporting obligations
Monitor SEC and FASB developments, communicate potential business impacts, and support system developments and process improvements
Support SEC reporting completeness and accuracy and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting
Develop relationships across business operations, general accounting, tax, treasury, legal and HR for timely communication and review of reporting matters
Work with external auditors on SEC filing and disclosure reviews, audit inquiries and supporting documentation
Perform technical accounting research and analysis and special projects
Research and document accounting memos, record technical accounting matters and prepare journal entries for complex transactions
Analyze new accounting standards and SEC regulations and document appropriate accounting treatments
Participate in implementing SOX controls and developing financial reporting accuracy procedures
Perform stock compensation accounting for stock options, restricted stock and ESPP awards, including valuation, monthly expense calculations and disclosures
Research new disclosures and FASB accounting standards updates and support disclosure requirements with external auditors
Provide technical accounting support to the Senior External Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of combined experience at a Big 4 accounting firm and in SEC reporting at a public company
CPA license, or equivalent (active preferred)
Proficiency in Workiva and NetSuite
Strong knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards and SEC regulations and disclosure requirements
Experience with public companies in the technology industry
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong project management, leadership, relationship development and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work on a fast-paced team and adapt to rapidly changing situations and conditions
Motivation to learn and develop knowledge of unfamiliar areas
