About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assume responsibility for project and program designs, concepts, and standards under Engineer of Record supervision and senior staff oversight
  • Communicate design requirements and assist project managers with project coordination and facilitation among architects, contractors, engineers, equipment manufacturer representatives, and other team members
  • Determine project scope, feasibility, and equipment needs, and provide operating procedures and technical information
  • Attend owner, client, or architect meetings and visit project sites to verify existing conditions or observe construction progress
  • Participate in client, company, and industry events to build and maintain professional relationships
  • Maintain proficient understanding of industry standards and regulations
  • Perform calculations, develop design approaches and concepts, design engineering systems, and collaborate with junior and senior staff
  • Create advanced system layouts, detail drawings, schematics, and schedules using Revit, AutoCAD, or other software
  • Develop heating and cooling load calculations in Carrier HAP
  • Model airside ductwork, air terminals, and equipment
  • Model waterside piping, pumps, terminal, and main equipment
  • Help prepare and modify studies, plans, reports, specifications, and project designs
  • Oversee drawing preparation and ensure accuracy and neatness before final QA/QC review
  • Review shop drawings and equipment submittals for conformance with plan documents and project specifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university and 7 or more years of relevant experience is required
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, or similar discipline, can substitute up to 1 year of work experience
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, AEC industry, codes and standards is required
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is required
  • Computer skills necessary to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, and BlueBeam Revu
  • Criminal background checks and drug/alcohol checks are required
  • Ability to work in a flexible and hybrid work schedule
