About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with all phases of litigation regarding opioid cases and other high-profile cases
- Assist with trial preparation and litigation tasks assigned by attorneys
- Review and analyze documents, transcripts, files, and other materials to locate relevant information and evidence
- Use electronic databases to review, organize, index, tag, and summarize litigation materials
- Conduct database searches for documents and information
- Troubleshoot technical issues with review platforms and tools
- Apply redactions to documents, including audio files
- Draft review memoranda and other litigation documents
- Communicate directly with case teams regarding ongoing litigation
- Draft, organize, and manage litigation review materials
- Use task ticketing software to track litigation case support
Requirements
What you’ll need- J.D. Degree
- Active member of the Bar in any U.S. jurisdiction
- U.S. Citizenship
- Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school with at least two years of study, or equivalent legal training or experience; equivalent education may be substituted
- At least two years of progressively more responsible experience on litigation support projects or task order-related projects
- Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
- Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases, document review and file management systems, spreadsheets, and imaging
- Hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
- Experience with civil litigation, especially complex federal cases and jury trials (preferred)
