About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Plan, direct, delegate, coordinate, and communicate high-quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process
Report to the Clinical Nurse Director
Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery at CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, an acute care hospital serving the Hollywood community and surrounding multicultural communities
Work varied 12-hour shifts on a per diem basis, with 12 or 24 weekly/bi-weekly hours and 0.3 FTE

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduate from an accredited associate degree of nursing program (ADN)
Minimum one year recent clinical experience in Labor and Delivery (not applicable to New Grad RNs)
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of obstetrical procedures and protocols
Must be able to work in a union environment
Current California RN License
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
Basic EKG Certification
NRP – Advanced Course (American Academy of Pediatrics or American Heart Association)
Intermediate FHM (AWHONN) or C-EFM
Advanced FHM (AWHONN)
Assault Response Competency (ARC) required within 30 days of hire
Los Angeles County Fire and Safety Card required within 30 days of hire
Acute Care setting preferred
Bachelor degree (BSN) preferred
Computer skills and experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred
