About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication with key client stakeholders and colleagues across regions
  • Develop and maintain client stakeholder matrices by category and location
  • Manage supplier relationships for assigned suppliers
  • Act as key contact for China locations on allocated categories and sourcing initiatives
  • Perform spend and contract analysis to identify sourcing and cost-reduction opportunities
  • Define and implement commodity strategies and sourcing plans for China locations
  • Align local and regional requirements with global sourcing categories
  • Lead and execute end-to-end sourcing projects within agreed timelines and quality standards
  • Deliver assigned savings targets through effective sourcing initiative management, tracking and reporting
  • Drive adoption of procure-to-pay (P2P) through sourcing initiatives and contract management
  • Adhere to sourcing policies, processes and ethical standards
  • Provide sourcing subject-matter expertise for client engagements and pitches
  • Plan and execute projects across a dynamic, multi-client environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree, ideally in economics, Supply Management and/or Legal, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience and demonstrable success in strategic sourcing, ideally in an international environment
  • Additional certification as a Sourcing/Procurement professional, e.g. CIPS Certificate or Registered Purchasing Manager (CPC)
  • Strong oral and written English and Simplified Chinese (mandatory)
  • Strong verbal and written Cantonese skills and good understanding of the local market highly preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
  • Strong project management experience
  • Highly competent in negotiations and contract knowledge
  • Ability to converse and negotiate with suppliers/clients and review contracts in Simplified Chinese and English
  • Proficient in conducting tenders and managing RFPs
  • Experience in IT procurement and Packaging procurement preferred
  • Experience working in a matrixed, multicultural environment
  • Prior sourcing experience in the Manufacturing industry
  • Familiarity with procurement operations in China and APAC
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders under tight timelines
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and collaborative mindset
