About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as deputy to the department head
  • Support the department head in developing the department’s strategic plan
  • Lead and monitor initiatives related to generational renewal in agriculture, particularly farm establishment, succession and agricultural employment
  • Coordinate a team of three employees
  • Monitor and facilitate political committees and meetings on relevant topics in collaboration with the elected representative responsible for the portfolio
  • Contribute to preparing and monitoring the department’s budget
  • Contribute to human resources management, including recruitment, performance evaluation and training
  • Contribute to generational renewal in agriculture and to maintaining a competitive and sustainable French agricultural sector

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in agricultural engineering, veterinary medicine, university studies or through secondment
  • Minimum of five years’ experience
  • Experience managing teams, with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Essential knowledge of agricultural issues
  • Experience working with professional elected representatives
  • Ability to work as part of a team; strong facilitation and coordination skills; autonomy and initiative
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience managing performance indicators and overseeing administrative and financial operations
  • Strong summarization and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and produce written documents quickly
