About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Reconcile designated general ledger accounts daily, weekly, or monthly
- Support accounts payable processing, including initiating workflows and ensuring timely invoice payment
- Purchase and manage supply orders for all departments
- Reconcile corporate credit card statements
- Assist with the fixed asset program and periodic inventory audits
- Prepare and post general ledger entries for financial reporting
- Assist with sales and use tax reporting
- Support monthly updates to the Asset Liability Management (ALM) model
- Assist in maintaining the investment portfolio
- Maintain accurate records of supply inventory and non-capitalized assets
- Support preparation of the quarterly Call Report
- Assist with annual vendor tax filings and personal property tax filings
- Participate in dual-control functions under credit union operations and security procedures
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and member information
- Stay current through training and development opportunities
- Contribute to team initiatives, events, and cross-functional support
- Ensure compliance with BSA, OFAC, the Patriot Act, and applicable state and federal laws
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Two years of experience working in a financial institution required, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and financial institution experience may be considered
- Accounting experience, including reconciliations, accounts payable, general ledger activities, or financial reporting, preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow established policies and procedures
- Professional and effective interaction with internal and external contacts
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to sit and/or stand; occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs
