About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own and elevate all lifecycle touchpoints, centered on email, to drive repeat civic action and return usage
  • Design the post-petition supporter journey into clear chapters
  • Ship email flows that regularly re-engage petition signers, guide them, and showcase petition impact
  • Extend and apply the modular email system across automated emails
  • Refresh visual design and develop brand-aligned templates with the Marketing team
  • Create a cohesive system of layouts, imagery, and reusable assets for lifecycle journeys
  • Use AI tools to explore design variations and speed production while maintaining quality
  • Report to the Senior Director of Design
  • Serve as a senior individual contributor within the Product team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and champion design standards while balancing performance, brand expression, and technical email constraints

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7+ years designing lifecycle communications for consumer or mission-driven products
  • Portfolio of visually striking, brand-forward emails showing systems thinking, strong typography/layout, and original asset creation
  • Figma expertise, including components, variables/tokens, Auto Layout, and libraries
  • Experience extending an existing modular email system and documenting patterns
  • Ability to design chaptered journeys that increase repeat engagement
  • Email expertise including mobile-first design, accessibility/alt text, dark mode, and image optimization
  • Basic HTML/CSS for email is a plus
  • Proficient use of design-focused AI tools to ideate and produce on-brand assets
  • Experience maintaining prompt/style libraries and QA guardrails
  • Ability to communicate rationale clearly, document templates/guidelines, and help others self-serve
  • Professional-level English proficiency required
