About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build strong working relationships with budget holders and operational leaders
  • Provide financial insight, support and challenge to aid decision-making
  • Support preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans
  • Produce and analyse monthly management accounts and variance reports
  • Identify risks, opportunities and performance improvement initiatives
  • Develop financial models, business cases and scenario analyses
  • Support cost improvement programmes and efficiency projects
  • Monitor project expenditure and provide insightful financial reporting
  • Assist with contract bids, tenders and investment appraisals
  • Contribute to improvements in financial systems, reporting and processes
  • Communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Work closely with operational and corporate teams across the organisation
  • Support monthly reporting, annual budget setting, forecasting cycles, business cases and strategic projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified or finalist accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a Finance Business Partnering, Management Accountant or similar role
  • Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate it clearly
  • Experience building effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience within healthcare, social care, charity or not-for-profit sectors (desirable)
  • Knowledge of workforce planning, agency spend analysis or service performance reporting (desirable)
  • Experience supporting change, transformation or procurement projects (desirable)
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
  • Confidence to challenge constructively and influence decision-making
  • Collaborative and customer-focused approach
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and delivering value
