About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage procurement activities for direct materials, components, fabricated parts, and production-related services
  • Issue and manage purchase orders, including pricing, quantities, lead times, delivery requirements, and contractual terms
  • Source and qualify new suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, lead time, and technical capabilities
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQ requirements, and other commercial agreements
  • Manage supplier relationships and purchasing-related issues
  • Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and capacity
  • Identify and mitigate supply-chain risks, including long-lead items, sole-source components, capacity constraints, and material shortages
  • Review MRP/ERP requirements and translate demand into purchasing actions
  • Analyze BOMs and engineering requirements to ensure materials and components are sourced and available
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Finance
  • Manage purchase order changes from engineering revisions, BOM changes, quantity changes, and schedule adjustments
  • Expedite critical and delayed materials to prevent production interruptions
  • Track open purchase orders and expected delivery dates, shortages, and supplier risks
  • Maintain supplier lead-time, pricing, capacity, purchasing, and ERP data
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities through competitive bidding, supplier negotiations, alternate sourcing, and volume leverage
  • Support supplier development, continuous improvement, new product introduction, and production ramp-up
  • Evaluate supplier quotes and prepare commercial comparisons and recommendations
  • Establish strategic supplier relationships for critical and high-value components
  • Ensure purchasing compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and contractual requirements
  • Develop contingency plans and alternate sourcing strategies
  • Support inventory optimization by balancing production requirements, supplier lead times, MOQ, cash flow, and inventory levels
  • Provide management reporting and analysis on spend, supplier performance, shortages, open orders, and procurement risks

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong procurement and sourcing experience across manufacturing environments
  • Strategic supplier management with a focus on cost, quality, lead time, capacity, and long-term supplier relationships
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills to address pricing, delivery, shortages, and supplier performance issues
  • Cross-functional leadership working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, and Finance
  • Ability to build and improve procurement processes that increase efficiency, visibility, accountability, and supply-chain reliability
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and comfort with multi-tasking in a fast-paced, ever-changing, ambiguous environment
  • E3 or TN visa sponsorship eligibility, where applicable
