About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collaborate with project teams to plan, design and implement infrastructure systems, solutions and tooling across cloud and on-premises platforms
  • Monitor core infrastructure and Microsoft platforms to maintain high availability, reliability and performance
  • Maintain, test and continually improve high-availability and disaster recovery capabilities
  • Design scalable, resilient, secure and cost-effective infrastructure solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across infrastructure platforms, systems and associated technologies
  • Lead investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of complex infrastructure incidents and service degradation
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement in provisioning, configuration, monitoring, patching and operational processes
  • Manage platform lifecycles, including upgrades, patching, capacity planning, performance optimisation and technology refresh
  • Assess compliance with organisational policies, security standards and regulatory requirements, and address identified gaps
  • Mentor fellow engineers and encourage knowledge sharing, consistent practices and technical excellence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • At least seven years of experience in systems engineering or a related field
  • Professional experience in the healthcare industry
  • Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange and messaging services, Microsoft 365, Windows and Linux Server operating systems, and Microsoft core services
  • Experience with identity and access management platforms such as Microsoft Entra
  • Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach
  • Initiative and willingness to learn
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel between sites as required
  • National Police Check required for new team members
  • Experience working in IT engineering teams and delivering projects in large organisations is highly regarded
  • Advanced Excel skills, financial acumen and SharePoint experience are highly regarded
