About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide solution architecture leadership for Ecommerce and Digital Engineering platforms
- Ensure solutions align with business objectives, enterprise architecture principles and technology strategy
- Define and maintain scalable, secure and sustainable architecture approaches for digital platforms, customer experiences, integrations and supporting services
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, engineering teams and enterprise architecture to translate requirements into technology solutions
- Provide technical guidance and architectural oversight from concept and design through implementation and production support
- Assess technology options and recommend solutions balancing business value, feasibility, scalability, risk and cost
- Partner with Engineering Managers and technical leads to support delivery and resolve complex technical challenges
- Collaborate with technology vendors and delivery partners to evaluate solutions and review technical proposals
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams and improve architectural capability
- Report to the Head of Architecture within the IT team
Requirements
What you’ll need- A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline is preferred
- At least eight years’ experience in a Solutions Architecture, Architecture or similar senior technology role
- Ideally experience within the healthcare industry
- Strong experience in digital commerce architecture, including eCommerce platforms, customer journeys, digital channels and supporting technologies
- Strong understanding of solution architecture principles and scalable, secure, reliable and maintainable enterprise digital solutions
- Practical knowledge of composable commerce, API-driven architecture, microservices, cloud-native solutions and integration patterns
- Strong understanding of eCommerce ecosystems, including product catalogue, search, customer management, checkout, payments, fulfilment, order management and third-party integrations
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, application hosting models, security principles and operational requirements for highly available digital platforms
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to assess complex requirements, evaluate technology options, manage technical risks and recommend practical solutions balancing customer experience, business value, scalability, cost and maintainability
