About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform scheduled preventive and corrective field mechanical service on gas compression units
- Represent the company professionally and provide outstanding customer service
- Submit accurate maintenance reports, expense reports, timesheets, and other paperwork daily
- Manage inventory, storage, and accessibility of parts and tools
- Diagnose engine and compressor failures
- Conduct rebuilds and overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls on gas compressor packages in the shop
- Respond to recurring problems and emergency services as needed
- Help coordinate the setting of new units and conduct start-up testing
- Perform mechanical and electrical assignments related to natural gas compressor systems and associated equipment
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must live within one hour of the designated service area
- Proven knowledge of machines and tools, materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of compression units
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with little or no supervision
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; present numerical data effectively; read and interpret written information
- Ability to provide personal customer service and satisfaction
- Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and understand spoken information
- Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility, keep commitments, and complete tasks on time
- Ability to adapt to changes, manage competing demands, and handle unexpected events
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems
- High school diploma or GED and 3-5+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Murphy EICS, Centurion, and Altronic systems
- Experience with Ariel, Gemini, Ajax, Caterpillar 3500, 379, 398, 399, and 3300 series engines and compressors
- Adequate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Valid driver's license
