About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead strategic and complementary initiatives within the Cross Tribe, enabling the integration and seamless user journey across the Gupy Platform
Plan, organize, and ensure high-quality deliveries within established deadlines
Review and implement improvements to development tools, methodologies, and processes, particularly through the use of AI
Work with developers and Staff Engineers to create and validate scalable architectural solutions
Connect technical decisions to the strategic vision of the Tribe and the company
Identify and mitigate risks, anticipate problems, and define action plans
Monitor engineering metrics, such as DORA and cycle time, and pursue cost efficiency across cloud services, APIs, infrastructure, and tools
Lead incident response efforts
Develop strategies that address technical priorities and product demands
Support the breakdown of epics into smaller tasks, aligning with Product Managers and Product Designers
Lead squads of approximately five developers
Facilitate agile ceremonies, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and planning sessions
Conduct 1:1 meetings and create development plans
Participate in the selection and onboarding of new team members
Encourage continuous learning and support career goals
Lead multidisciplinary teams and highly scalable technical projects
Restructure development processes aligned with AI
Define quality strategies and support the evolution of the product architecture

Requirements

What you’ll need

Solid software development experience in digital product companies, such as SaaS businesses and digital platforms
Knowledge of modern engineering practices, such as Git Flow, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and CI/CD
Experience with the automation of unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end tests
Knowledge of monitoring and observability, including structured logs and dashboards
Knowledge of agile metrics, including velocity, lead time, and cycle time
Knowledge of DORA metrics, including deployment frequency, mean time to recovery (MTTR), and change failure rate
Ability to lead a technical backlog while prioritizing technical quality, security, and performance
Previous experience as a Tech Lead or in a similar role
Experience with Scrum and Kanban agile methodologies
Experience solving complex problems
Ability to influence technical decisions, manage incidents, and align technical and business objectives
Understanding of product and design roles, with the ability to work as part of a triad
Ability to develop the team through individual growth plans and best practices
Preferred: experience as both a software developer and a Tech Lead
Preferred: interest in or experience with Artificial Intelligence applied to software development
Preferred: experience in startups or scale-ups, advanced observability tools, high-growth and highly scalable environments, HR products, or product ecosystems
