About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide comprehensive advanced-practice care to children and their families
  • Rotate among clinic, consult, and inpatient services at Arthur M. Blank Hospital, Scottish Rite, and the Medical Office Building at Scottish Rite
  • Provide care under the supervision of the supervising/collaborating physician within state statute and Children’s bylaws
  • Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations and identify normal and abnormal physical, cognitive, and psychosocial findings
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans
  • Educate patients, families, healthcare professionals, and students
  • Facilitate referrals to medical providers, facilities, and health/social service agencies
  • Collaborate and consult with physicians and other healthcare providers
  • Participate in professional development and self-evaluation
  • Assist with department/practice education development
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and comply with hospital and departmental policies
  • Support compliance with National Patient Safety Goals and Joint Commission requirements
  • Provide occasional weekend coverage

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • No minimum experience required
  • 2 years of experience in pediatric healthcare preferred
  • Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice or Master’s or Doctorate degree in Medical Science preferred
  • Master's degree in nursing or bachelor's degree in medical science
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Georgia or multi-state through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact and APRN licensure in Georgia, or Physician Assistant licensure in Georgia
  • Certification as an APRN by ANCC, AANP, PNCB, or NCCPA; Family Nurse Practitioner certification may be acceptable with CNO approval
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 60 days of hire for specified roles
  • Knowledge of Georgia Scope of Practice for Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission regulatory requirements and credentialing processes
  • Excellent written, spoken, and presentation communication skills
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Personal and professional integrity; collaborative and respectful behavior; flexibility and willingness to change
