About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct and indirect patient care through application of the nursing process
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate vascular access sites and devices, including peripherally inserted central catheters and intravenous sites
- Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to healthcare professionals caring for children
- Guide and potentially supervise assigned nursing personnel
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and coordinate with ancillary staff
- Operate within Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta policies, procedures, and applicable state legal requirements
- Demonstrate excellent customer service and support the organization’s vision, mission, and values
- Display leadership skills and participate in research related to vascular access
- Support the environment for delivery of care
- Maintain competence to provide or assist with clinical care
- Participate in healthcare education and maintain professional development
- Foster others’ professional development through feedback, input, and coaching
- Participate in and support shared leadership councils
- Foster collegial relationships across team members, departments, and medical staff
- Support budget, productivity, and resource utilization
- Serve as unit leader on shift in the manager’s absence
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge processes to ensure efficient and safe patient flow

Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2 years’ healthcare experience required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) within 1 year of employment as required by department specifications
- Professional Nursing Certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Preferred: 1 year of Clinical Nurse 3-5 level or management/administrative experience in a healthcare setting
