About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in interdisciplinary assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive patient care services
- Provide staffing support to Intensive Care Units, Emergency Departments, and Medical/Surgical floors at Arthur M. Blank, Hughes Spalding, and Scottish Rite Hospitals
- Support safe patient care and a safe environment
- Care for patients across neonate, infant, early childhood, late childhood, adolescent, and adult age populations
- Access and follow policies
- Use resources effectively to help maintain the budget
- Participate in the performance improvement process
- Maintain and monitor the work environment for Joint Commission readiness
- Participate in discharge planning
- Read clinical research and evidence-based practice articles and question care accordingly
- Assess patients comprehensively and recognize subtle changes in patient status
- Evaluate responses to interventions and adjust plans of care
- Prioritize patient care independently
- Include families in patient care and provide appropriate education
- Participate in unit-based customer service initiatives
- Communicate effectively using SBAR with team members and physicians during transfers and discharge
- Resolve conflicts involving patients, families, and staff
- Consult interdisciplinary team members and delegate tasks appropriately
- Support CHOICE, unit committees, and unit and department goals
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6 months of RCP experience required
- Graduation from an approved diploma or associate degree program with the RRT credentials
- Current license in the state of Georgia as a Respiratory Care Professional
- BLS required within 30 days of hire
- PALS certification required within one year of hire date
- 75% attendance at staff meetings if applicable
- Complete mandatory education requirements by due date
- Maintain a minimum of 15 CEU/education hours per year
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Neonatal-Pediatric Specialty credential preferred
- 2 years of RCP experience preferred
- AARC membership preferred
